I try to focus on relaxing my shoulders and arms and have to constantly remind myself during a run to do this. So, keep 'em coming. I appreciate the feedback. ;-)Rickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04034531091253691652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3665774408026060427.post-16077379161813339222008-01-17T18:07:00.000-05:002008-01-17T18:07:00.000-05:00or maybe nevermind me...maybe you're just tall and...or maybe nevermind me...maybe you're just tall and looking ahead, LOL!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16310613181496688283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3665774408026060427.post-9611275760817787782008-01-17T18:05:00.000-05:002008-01-17T18:05:00.000-05:00Dave, looking at your race pictures...reminds me o...Dave, looking at your race pictures...reminds me of my fatigued form. Your head is tipped back and shoulders tight. That's exactly what I do when I start to get fatigued. I have discovered it is an ineffective way to combat that fatigue you get when you are going all out. Try to recognize when you are doing this, and then relax your shoulders, relax your face, and drop your chin, think about keeping your core firm-not slouchy...see if you feel the difference. I practiced it during training and was able to use this during my last half marathon and felt like I got great results.

I know it sounds complicated but it's something to think about on your rest day. :)Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16310613181496688283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3665774408026060427.post-3893847297599849022008-01-17T14:39:00.000-05:002008-01-17T14:39:00.000-05:00I'm resting. I'm like you in that I am both a runner and a Christian--it was really nice to stumble upon your blog today!

Regarding rest...I think we all know we should, but we also tend to overlook it. I've been fighting an illness but still running--until today, when I crashed 3 miles into a 6 mile run. Now, I'm finally listening to my body. Just make sure you don't go that far, cuz it ain't fun!

JimJimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15963095264663210450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3665774408026060427.post-5492294918110808532008-01-17T11:17:00.000-05:002008-01-17T11:17:00.000-05:00Just don't hurt yourself if the footing is bad. ;...Just don't hurt yourself if the footing is bad. ;-)Rickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04034531091253691652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3665774408026060427.post-42055074172039066612008-01-17T10:34:00.000-05:002008-01-17T10:34:00.000-05:00Ahhh I love the doggie pic!!!! He typically sticks right near my feet, so much so that I invariably end up swearing at him throughout the day for not moving...poor guy. True dog love though, he never holds it against me:)

I'm tryin' not to go run, really I am!! I'm telling myself it's too icy, it's too cold, it's too miserable out there but man, it's so darn pretty!!!Marhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164827091231545536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3665774408026060427.post-82375039848269399162008-01-17T10:26:00.000-05:002008-01-17T10:26:00.000-05:00Run strong and rest well my running friend.
